treasured picks

there is almost nothing I like more than when my fav blogs lead me to awesome websites. that was exactly what happened when the Glamourai blog led me to modcloth.com. Modcloth was originally developed from one women's love of thrifting and has spiraled into an amazing one stop shop for all things vintage. the Glamourai was chosen as the "blogger of the moment" and was able to pull cute outfits for a mini collection.

although I can't say I am in love with everything in this mini guest collection, I am dying to get my hands on the pieces shown below. colourful dress? ok! (that green grecian dress is especially compelling... I really should know better than to shop so close to my credit card.) that brown bag is hauntingly beautiful.

hope you enjoy these pics or at least peruse over to the website to check out the full collection. I am sure there will be new Megs posts featuring some other pieces soon.

black tights for life

after a previous comment about my boredom with tights, boots, and rocker shirts, I thought I should make it clear that I do love all of the above. it is simply the overabundance of them in celebrity media that makes me a little...well...fed up. to be honest, black tights are probably one of my favourite things. they look good on almost all body shapes and can be dressed up, dressed down, worn as pants, or worn as leggings. after checking out elle's street chic blog my love for them is even stronger. I love the diversity of outfits and styles the black tights can work with. enjoy!

star light, star bright

after shifting through literally 100's of pictures to find a post, I have realized that a) tights are back, b) apparently all the glitter I have been craving since before Christmas is the new red carpet staple, c) big bosomed girls do not photograph well in turtle necks, and d) the pony tail is cool again. on that note, no more pics of tights and riding boots with rocker shirts please. we get it.

on a more positive note, my go-to staples (VB, RW, and RM) were there to impress. I love all these looks!

watch this

however tiny these pics may be, my love of vintage watches prevails! lol.

I found a pretty cool watch blog Watchismo that I can peruse when I am in need of a watch fix. watches are probably one of my life's great loves. not only are they practical, they are stylish, a statement, and timeless. in job interviews your bedazzled shoes may not get you far and they most certainly do not care for your overly patterned tights, but a stylish watch just screams "on top of it". my ultimate goal is a Oyster Perpetual Rolex... mmmmm. but until that cash becomes liquid (i.e. once my children are through university), I am on a quest to collect other cool watches. I tend to be more drawn to the metals and leathers, rather than plastic, but I am open to anything.

look forward to more watch pics in the future.

Back by Popular Demand

a perfect new post to a new year. as some (ok, like 2 people) have noticed, my blog has been slightly less than active in the new year. in my defense, I was looking for the perfect inspiration to start off the new season of blogging. I was weaning between a perfect new professional wardrobe pile, a new artist I could latch on to, a meaningful piece of art, or a blog I could share with my friends.

and I am glad I didn't settle.

Anthropologie , a boutique-esque store has recently taken fashion, glamour, and trendiness to a whole new level with their facebook page. and to be honest, I am not even ashamed to admit that I am addicted to a store's facebook page. in this one site I managed to find that work wardrobe I need to invest in, a store display and photographic style of a true artist, pieces of clothes that challenge critics of the "clothes are art" movement, and a blog (of sorts) that I can share with my friends.

the music they share I listen to while working. their links to other blogs sharing their sense of style is a cool jumping point when wanting to read something fashionable. AND I am dying to purchase the outfit shown in the last pic. perfect-o. not to foreshadow too much, but my new work wardrobe plans to be filled with pencil skirts, collared shirts, and patterns. making this collection of clothing a must have. enjoy my friends!
